    Default Feeding my Oscars

I have often heard that many people feed thier african cichlids vegetables such as zucchini and lettuce. But what I was wondering is would any of you recomend this for my oscars or would this just be pointless. 8)

Not pointless at all. What I do is a a beef heart mixture with a whole beef heart trimmed of all the fat and cut into cubes and mix it with a bag of peas, or spinach in a blender. Mix it with a pack of gelatin, wait until it hardens and cut it into cubes. If you are going to use it as staple food, I would put some vitamins in there as well.

Oscars grow like crazy and love it. If you feed them vegetables by themselves I can almost guarantee they will just spit them out.

Mine wouldn't even eat spirulina pellets,
