Default So how does everyone aquascape?

I have seen some really amazing tanks from some of the members. Eveybody seems to have a system they like. I was hoping everyone could share what they like to decorate their tanks with. From substrate to bacground. Specific biotopes, or just plain cool. Feel free to post pics.

i generally like to use small to medium gravely type of substrate(sand, river rock). i generally use plastic plants that have a natural color(no bright pink, orange, you know). i like to let my oscar do the overall scaping if you know what i mean.

My fav is driftwood, rocks, slate & grass on a dark substrate. I'm going to have to try to get some full tank shots...
Kinda dark, but she likes it that way.

I try to go natural but not too contrived. I don't bother about trying to acheive a biotope. I like the look of wood. And I have been successful with a few live plants now too(no pics of these though). They look cool, but will probably get chomped...I found a nice mixed gravel I like that looks natural.

I'm attaching a pic anyway ;) You've probably seen enough of my tank to last a long time!!

    Nice piece of wood, Cichgirl!

This one has sand in it and just some bog wood for the none agressive to hide in, I regret going sand in this tank because its hard to keep clean.

This one here was more of a wow factor for our bedroom, it has large black pebbels insted of gravel and alot of plants witch were ripped out by the oscar, The mask in the back ground was just an idea we thought of, but when we put it in the tank we couldnt belive how good it looked, IMO

I have glass vases in there for caves, and expect the algae growing on them will look neat. The fish love them
