    YEAAAAAAAAAAAA-GOT MYSELF A NEW 20 GALLON LONG FOR 25 BUCKS THOUGHT IT WAS A GOOD DEAL-TANK LOOKS REAL NICE-WHATS THE BEST WAY 2 GO ABOUT TREATING THE NEW TANK AND EVERYTHING ALONG WITH IT-IM GOING 2 TEST MY WATER TODAY AND TRY 2 GET SOME SAND FROM HOME DEPOT

    You need to cycle it first. Here at some articles to pour over.

    You could use sponge filters in a 25. I use a Regent and a Penguin 150 on mine.

    Be careful you do not get too fine a sand. That will clog your filters. If your using sponge you should be fine.

    yeah i have 2 let it cycle first-ive got the water in there-couple of frogs and some feeder fish for my predators

    at petsmart-its a real nice tank and it said 25 bucks so i thought it was worth it-i still have 2 go 2 home depot today and get some sand-would anyone recoommend cleaning the sand before putting it in the tank-cause i mean it is bagged up

    clean everything before it goes into your tanks. if you want some hints, do a search on here for "sand substrate" or just "sand" and you should get lots of answers!
