Default Please read before posting...Help us Help You!

We Cichlid Forums members want to help you with your sick fish. However, we will need some basic information from you first. When you post your questions regarding your 'sick fish' please include the following information, as it is necessary to diagnose your situation.
    Please include in your post:
    1. Species name of the fish in question, also the names of any tank mates.
    2. Tank Size in gallons or liters.
    3. Symptoms, this includes things like "not eating", "white spots", "torn fins", "fuzzy white stuff on the body", "swims in circles only", etc...
    4. Water Parameters. This is the most important part in helping us diagnose your fish. Please include the pH, Temp, Ammonia/Nitrate/Nitrite levels, how long since
    the last water change, etc.
    5. Any thing else you think may be 'unusual'

If you are not familiar with how to find out your water parameters, your local fish store should be able to test your water for you, and a good store should do it for free. If not, you may need to purchase a test kit, they are usually simple to use and based on common re-agent reactions.
