    Default Evaporation or leak?

How do I know if my 55gal has a leak or is simply evaporating fast ? My water temp is in the high 80's I did. Lower the heat this morning and checked the outside of the tank and did not feel any moisture

It is probably evaporating especially if you have hang on the back filters like I have.
I had that problem until I filled all to air gaps with plastic filler panels.

Evaporation, I lose a gallon plus every day or so on my 75 with a wet/dry(sump) filter during the summer months, usually about 1/2 gallon during the winter months.
