    Default Activated Carbon Question

I am wondering what the feeling is on the use of carbon. I used to us it now I have kind of stopped. Does not seem to have affected water quality at all. I do large water changes frequently though. Just wondering because I am designing a new filter and am trying to figure out what it should contain.

Crap I also wanted to know if anyone uses those black rubber balls for the biological filtration. I am using these rock like cylinders which seem fine but just wondering what is better.

As long as your water looks & smells OK, you don't need carbon, daily. Use it for removing meds, or if you think your tank may have been contaminated by something toxic.
