Im all for algae. I have tested the rock with vinegar no fizz. I have 3 salousi in the tank. The colorless one seems to be the most dominant, even against larger fish.

I was talking about the fish, not being bothered by the iron. Plus there would be so little iron, coming from the streak it would be a minimal amount. I don't mind algae with mbuna or trophs. They usually eat it with no problems. I couldn't grow algae in my tropheus tanks if i tried. LOL . A lot of people with well water have high iron concentrations. At least in my area they do.

sorry misunderstood the post, I wish I could lower the iron in my water, but short of an ro/di unit I don't see that happening, plus hear in florida we also have a lot of phosphate to go with the iron so its an algae paradise.

    New scape and bigger fish.
These fish seem to be growing non stop. I wish the algae will grow.

Trade you some algae for a plant...

Just kidding. Do you keep you light on long enough? Are your fish taking care of it when it starts?

My 110 gallon tank is algae free as the fish keep it clean, as do those pesky little snails that the clown loach enjoys to eat.

My 20 gallon is an algae magnet and the light is on half the time as the big tank, must just be the right conditions..

If it were possible to trade algae, I definitely would!
The lights are on min 10hrs and max 16hrs. I think the light is too weak.
