I'm not sure I understand what you are getting at. Since there aren't any exporters located at Lake Victoria like there are on Lake Malawi or Lake Tanganyika, the vics tend to be much less available in the hobby. But there are some species of victorian cichlids that are more readily available at the local fish/pet stores than some species of Malawi or Tangs, etc. Astatotilapia latifasciata, for example, is thought to be extinct in the wild yet is very common in the hobby. I believe that the true Scianochromis ahli (NOT fryereri) from Lake Malawi isn't exported unless you are able to special order it.

The rarest cichlids in the hobby tend to be those that aren't exported because they are not very attractive or grow too large and therefore have very little commercial value. In this case, they are rare in the hobby simply because no one wants them regardless of where they originate from.

I believe there are 2 very rare cichids in the American hobby
Iranacichla hormuzensus obviously by the name, from Iran it is the only cichlid endemic to it's habitat
and Nandopsis ramsdeni from Cuba, one of only 2 species from the island.
These are available in Europe but because of the political situation and embargoes that forbid trade, etc, very hard to get in the US.
