Default About what size do peacocks generally start to color up?

I know most females are pretty plain with no color and it's the males who get extremely colored up but when does this coloring up normally occur? I currently have 3 fry that are about an inch long and all 3 have no color except a little bit of bright yellow on the very tip of their bottom fin, at an inch with no color should I assume I have 3 females or are they just too young still?

It depends on what else is in the tank with them. Also on the fish itself. I have seen peacocks color up as small as an inch and sometime not till they get to almost 3 in

Agreed. I have a red shoulder that is very red at about 1.5" and a sunshine that took until 3.5" before starting to turn blue in the head. It all just depends.
