Anyone know of a good place to find plans for a bowfront stand 46 gallons in particular?

I really like this one!!! I think I will mirror this one just without the doors. (doors are cool but I am trying to go cheap here)

You could always add the doors later ;)

My thoughts exactly! This one looks about best for what I have in mind, also I am going to make it shorter. Already drawing up a plan based on that thread. should have a functional stand for about $35.

Then later another $25-30 to finish it and stain it all puuurdee

Right... the cheapest stand I found for this tank (pre-fab) is 119.99+tax on sale at petco right now... normal 149.99+tax

And that prefab is probably crap. Homemade is the way to go, if you know your doing.

yeah I hate the pre made ready to assemble everything... desks, tv stands, aquarium stands, all of it sucks. looks good but don't trust it... never had one fail but they don't seem sturdy

Well, I got my design all drawn up and my specs figured out... called the local lumber yard and got everything priced out including screws for $33.xx.

They will even cut all my wood to the sizes I want for free!!!!

I will try to get that wood picked up this week so I can put it all together Sunday.

I will be adding photos and whatnot to this thread once I have everything... I'll do a solid walkthrough of everything as well.

Starting a thread in the American section for proposed stocking as well.
