Need help Sexing My Jewel Cichlids

I know jewels aren't american cichlids and are from west african rivers, but if anyone here could help me out...here is a link to a youtube video of my new young jewel cichlids...i need help determining their sex!

On the red jewels males have blue speckles as the females will not.

Is that 100% true? I am trying to sex my red jewels as well and I know nothing.

males will always have the blue iridescent scales, but most, if not all of the females i have seen, have had the blue scales also. the male just has far more then the female. the male will typically have them covering the entire body, and the female will have them but a lot less, and they will be randomly scattered around the body. This is just what i observed, the jewels i have turned out to be male and female and have bred twice

In Jewel Cichlids both males and females have the blue iridescence. A good male whos ready to breed will most likely be blood red. Females can attain a bright shade of red as well, but males will stand out in a crowd.
