Yes, providing the Tropheus are still kept in sufficient numbers. What size tank?

In a 55g its going to be hard to have both enough Tropheus and enough Mbuna to form stable groups.
I think pre formed group of about 8 Tropheus duboisi plus a group of say 8 Pseudotropheus sp. "Acei" could work in a 75g.

But as 16 of iether on thier own in a 75g would breed more and be happier and easier to keep not sure I can even recommend that mix.

Sorry I think you are on a loser here, as 75g is the min size recommended by most folk for a Tropheus group alone.
    Let alone mixed with Mbuna.

    All the best James

Whoops, kind of left this one hanging didn't I... thank you James, I fully concur. Julez, a lone Tropheus would be ok with mbuna in a 55g (but that isn't 'real Tropheus keeping').
