Default what are you currently keeping?

Every now and then I am asked how many fish I keep. I know that it's a bad sign that I can never answer the question. This afternoon is fairly slow, so I thought it would be a good time to try to come up with a list of the New World cichlids that I'm currently keeping in my 43 (at last count) tanks.

Feel free to add to the post with your own lists!

    Laters,
While I sell a few fish, and trade some, I'm just a hobbiest. A severely addicted hobbiest...

I will make this easier on myself by only listing the fish I have that fish speaker doesn't. There is quite a bit of overlap. That is, after all, how we met.

dstuer - Are you breeding those wesseli? We recently lost our males. The wesseli on fish speaker's list are just 2 females....

Yes: they were sharing a growout tank with a group of amphilophus altifrons when we had a pair of altifrons form. In order to give the pair a chance to breed, I pulled all the wesseli and the extra altifrons out of the tank. The extra altifrons was beaten to death by a uro and a couple of spectabilis, while I blame my crenicichla lacustris for the wesseli deaths.

I'm hoping to breed the wesselli one day, although they are in a cichlid community tank, I have 3, a male a female and an unknown.

And I agree about how the Paratilapia fit well with the new worlds, even Paretroplus seem more like new than old, but then again they are an entity all to themselves.
