    Default Outrageous prices at LFS!!!

WOw!! so i was out fish shopping this weekend and stumbled upon the most ridiculous LFS i've ever seen, as far as prices are concerned!!

i saw an adult male jaguar cichlid for $500, yes FIVE HUNDRED and the female for $400, a 10" oscar for $200, and a bunch of flower horns that looked like mutated trimacs and red devils ranging $500 - $1200.

glad to say i got out of there quickly, found another LFS w/ the gorgeous red devil i was looking for, for $20

I'd bet that Oscar had a spot that looked like a character in some Asian language, or some other odd characteristic that caused them to demand a premium for it.

I agree with jombi21 that you normally can't even give away a full grown Oscar... There must have been something "different" about that fish.

    Where the "jaguars" wild caught?
I should use this space to promote the photo contest...but I can't think of anything clever...

That i'm not sure of, but still, even for wild caught ones, that seems too high priced.

[half joking] Sounds like a cover. They probably don't expect to sell the fish. [/half joking]

Sure they're priced high, but you only have to sell one and you can take the rest of the day off.

I saw an ad on craigslist for a tiger oscar and a 55 gal tank, they said the tiger oscar was a "Super Rare fish" and was asking 350.00.
