    Default What is "venting"?

Just a technical question, because I've never seen it done (it sounds unpleasant). What is venting?

Venting is the proof positive method of sexing fish.

Probably the best description of the process (and the most copied) is an article by Gary Kratochvil:

I thought venting was the term used when you can't get that rock formation to stay up that you spent hrs trying to get right and you get all frustrated and punch the wall. Am I off here?
