Thread: Victorian ID

    Default Victorian ID

The guys in the ID department thought this might be a Victorian. Does anyone know what it might be?

It sure looks to be victorian. When it gets a bit older, we can try to figure out what it is. For now I'll take a wild guess and say that it might be one of the hap 44 varieties.

    We'll see.

    Heres a updated shot.

The head is really turning blue the body yellow with black baring and the tail and fins have this reddish tint.

Looks like Kevin was right with the sp. 44 ID.

Got a couple more? Vics are really hard to photograph.

Don't be too hasty on the congrats. I'm not convinced myself yet. Those stripes should be more distinct and the face is a bit too blue (instead of almost black) and the red in the fins isn't very bright red.

But the Hap 44's do show a bit of color variation.

i think it's still young - and he said it's the only one of its kind in the gallery thread. i think it's just a young Vic by itself that's not showing a lot of color.

the first pictures in this thread look a little off to me, though. the red dorsal strip is awfully pronounced.

Hey! you guys talking about me behind my back
Matt- you may be right I got him back in Jan or something so max I would say he's 7 or 8 months old so who knows how he'll grow up
Kevin- so far the 44 is the closest I've seen. If you look at Bubba's post over in the gallery, he just added a couple of 44s and it could be my boy is a bit delayed, but they're defiantly related!

    Yup. We sure are.

Here's my Hap 44 at about the same age (I think?) as yours.

    Very similar.

    Hey Kevin!
I was just in my LFS today and he told me that on this end of the atlantic they call em Victorian Prince. Does that mean anything to you?

He looks like my 44. Here are some pics at different angles. His stripping comes and goes, depending on mood. Sometimes he looks like your pic, StructureGuy.

    Thanks,
    James
