Default pseudos nipping at lava rock?

I recently put a large piece of lava rock in my 125g and the pseudotrophs(snow white and cobalt blue) nip at it like they're trying to eat it. Is this normal? I don't want it to get in their stomachs so should I get rid of the lava rock?

P.S. All water levels are normal and I do feed them
