    Hi Kris

I can barely make the fish out (my sight is aging faster than the other senses--except common, maybe ), but it appears to be Maylandia estherae.

Using my magnifying glass(just kidding) could be Psuedotropheus Msobo deeps, juvenile aor female.

Well then; if he is what I suspect and he is a male you will see him change color in a month or so. He will change to dusky lavender then eventually to a blue/black color. Very attractive, but if it is a female she will remain a bright orange/yellow.

    Time will tell.

I guess "sonetime a snake is really a snake". You could very well be right SGM, as I have no experience w/estherae.

Looks like a Red Zebra aka M. Estherae to me as well. Which is more commonly found then the Msobo.

IMO p. Msobo "deep" are more yellow as juviniles than orange. Looks like a M. Estherae juvinile to me. If indeed it is a Msobo "deep" thne you should see the color get brighter and not more uniform. And as someone said..if it is a male it will start to faze into a blue/black morph. Msobo have a squatier (is that a word) body... but without something to jusge it against in your tank...It may impossible at this point to tell. I know one thing for sure though..........

I figured that I'd chime in since I have all three:

    adult female saulosi

    young adult male estherae

    juvenile female msobo "deep"

Of the three...I'd say it looks the most like the estherae...although much more orange than yellow...Thanks
