Amount of rock and tank size question
Hey guys im in the process of setting up a 55 gal. Im looking at rvier rocks from a local landscaping place, but i was wondering if there is an idea of how much rock (weight) goes with what size tank. I will be putting egg crat and possibly a UGJ in there, so the rock will have a structure to sit on other than glass. Any help would be greatly apprciated

I have over 150 pounds of limestone in my "Tanganyikan" 55gallon...With egg crate in the bottom, you can add as much rock as can be safely stacked up.
I should use this space to promote the photo contest...but I can't think of anything clever...

Yeah, you probably can't add too much rock to most tanks...

Cubic foot for cubic foot, most rock is heavier than water but not like 50 times heavier or anything so I don't worry about the weight, only the chance of rocks falling.
135 Gallon: Cyrtocara moorii, Labidochromis caeruleus
90 Gallon: Turquoise Discus, Skunk Corydoras, Cardinal Tetras
90 Gallon: Yellow Lab grow-out tank
Fish tanks - betcha can't have just one!
