    Default shipping fish

is it a good idea to order fish online? I am a herp gy and am leary of ordering any kind of reptile or amphibian online because of the concerns of shipping. should I be concerned about fish being shipped?

Yes, you should be concerned, but it's done all the time. Just make sure the people you're buying from have shipped before and know what they're doing. A lot of people avoid shipping in the hot months (July, Aug) and the really cold months (Jan, Feb) because of temperature extremes. You'll also want to make sure that it's sent overnight and that there's somebody there to receive the fish so they aren't left on a hot doorstep, or even worse, taken back to the shop until the next delivery.

What type of fish are you looking for?

If you want African cichlids try www.armkes.com. I have a friend who is a breeder and ships. e-mail me what you are looking for and I'll see if he has them or if he knows someone that does. This way you will save some money.
