questions concerning armored

Just out of curiousity,Are all catfish of the armored variety Nocturnal and stay fairly small in size(under 7")?The reason for the question is I have a 4" spotted rapheal cat and he's a great cleaner and nicely decored but never comes out to be seen during daylight hours.If any exceptions to this rule please list(thanks AOT)

I had one of those a while back and he never came out during the day. Many times I had to search for him to make sure he was still in there. He would go to pains to find some place to hide out of the light.

Sorry, that doesn't answer your original question though, does it?

I have a pair for the last 2 years and have only seen them a handful of times They do a pretty godd job of cleaning. I'd check planetcatfish.com to find a catfish you are looking for.
