    Talking Went shopping....

Well, I went shopping today. The best kind of shopping - fish shopping!!!!!!!!!!!!

For you CD - my new Cynotilapia afra "Mbwecca". Got a male and two females... he's still a little upset b/c of the move...

My new Labeotropheus fullebourni male (right). Two females, too... they're OB females... didn't get a good pic of them, but i'll try again later... (i like this pic... Labido and Labeo...)

    my new F0 multis...

    closer...

and now i'm just showing off.... i love these guys... you tang people have it easy! try getting a malawian to sit still... i should probably stop referring to other people as "you tang people" ... i have enough to qualify, i think...

nice close-up of one of my N. helianthus, the new parents...

and one of my Astatotilapia latifasciata (you know you're a cichlid geed when you can spell "Astatotilapia latifasciata"...) they've been slowly coloring up... wish that came through better in the pic...

i'm going to try to get some more pics later - of the afra females the the fulleborni females and some after the newbies have settled in a bit...

it's not about getting what you want; it's about wanting what you've got.

They all look good! My afra's and fuelleborni's are the most hyper in the tank. Their fun and nice to look at!

    Matt....quit copping my style!

Actually, those are some sweet fish...I'm kinda jealous you were able to get the Mbweca....I'm not sure I've mentioned it, cus I was really peeved about it, but my Female Mbweca committed suicide out the back of the tank a while back  ...very bummed about it....oh well...it happens...I think she was just "loved to death" by the males in the tank (that little skank!)....

Oh well...RIP ya fiesty lil B!%$#

I should use this space to promote the photo contest...but I can't think of anything clever...

tho to be king of my rock pile, he'll have to tangle with that white lab in that pic...

and CD - don't think of it as coping your style, just me taking inspirtaion!

Always heard that that's the ultimate form of flattery.

Nice fish Matt V - especially the multi's.

Of course....I could certainly be accused of coping Cathy's style....

Once I saw her Multi pics, I had to have some! Now I've got em in two tanks....and the LFS is growing me out some F1 N. Occelotus (sp?)...

Then I saw Finz's calvus....had to get me some of them too...now I have four little yellows and two big wild whites....

yes, you all are BAD influences. very bad.

after all, the current 75g set up having (mostly) mbuna is woot's fault. i saw his 75g with lots of mbuna swimming about and then the gears started churning...

hopefully my next tank (yes, you read that right.... i'm already scheming...) will have some really cool Victorians to inspire...

i still haven't decided if i'm done with this tank yet...

    it has:

    2 M. johanni (1m/1f)
    3 C. afra Mbwecca (1m/2f)
    3 L. fulleborni (1m/2f)
4 Lab. caeruleus Nkhata bay (PROBABLY 2m, 2f... probably... you try sexing labs...)
    and
6 A. latifasciata (too young to guess...)

Question is - one more group? some acei? something else? once i find out what i have with the latifasciata, I'll probably pare it down to one or two males...

i think i can get more in there... what thinkst thee?

i'm already completely enamoured by this tank. i have to do a film of what happens when i walk into the room... the activity level is INSANE!

Yeah, Cathy's responsible for a few of us falling into the Tang addiction... I was into Americans, breeding group of Firemouths & cons, & also Oscars. & had 2 tanks. Then I ventured into the Tang section on this forum, more out of curiosity than anything, &... well lets just say the only non-Tang I have left in my... now 5... tanks is my 4x Electric Yellow juvies I'm growing out. (We're all very grateful by the way Cathy....)

Beatiful fish by the way Matt.... I laughed my a** off when you said you'd bought the F0 Multi's already. I had wondered how you were able to resist, was all impressed & stuff at your display of self-control... then NOT!!!

The Mbweca look alot like the Afra Usisiya a friend has some of.

Shop around here has had a juvi group of Mbwecas from old wolrd. Saw a male fired up a couple times, pretty nice. I already have too many nice Afra right now though.

    Nice pics.
