whata these babies go for?? lfs has them listed as "red peacocks"
15 bucks. i dont have the room for anything else, but im curious.
and yea i know, it killed the cat..........

"peacock" usually refers to aulonocara species from lake malawi. prices for all fish are variable, depending on the source, quality, location, etc. do the fish at your lfs look like this?: http://www.ohiexchange.com/armke/images/hap_sp_all_red.JPG

15 strikes me as a bit on the high end - not really expensive, just a bit - if they are indeed Haplochromis sp. all red...

15 isnt really high in this area, i guess. idaho falls isnt LA after all.
not alota selection. im somewhat worried about em being "juiced" though. i bought an ahli from petco that was beautiful. month later washed to female. wont spawn either.

vics, unlike ahlis, can color up at a small size.

yea im finding that out. the liitle devils i have are coloring/breeding at an 1" to 1 1/2". thanks!

the little vics that i got on saturday were kinda drab at the lfs, but in just three days, some of them are already starting to show some color. so if they already look good in store conditions, they might really shine once they get settlied in at home!
