View Full Version : October Photo Contest Reset
Because of two individuals, I have had to reset the votes for the October Contest.
Please (sigh) vote again. I've set up tighter controls, which means an added step for new bonafide registrants, but it's unfortunately necessary.
Lamentably, there will always be those losers who have nothing else to do than stuff ballots in a cichlid photo contest (I mean, really, just listening to how that sounds is by itself pitiful, ain't it? )
Thanks for your understanding.

Was wondering why I couldn't vote.
Thanks Tom.
For those who already voted (before the reset) and now can't register a vote, please PM me for a special password set up for this purpose.
Sorry about all of this inconvenience; I realize it's inconceivable
to any sane person why some punk would want to do this, except to cause trouble.
If it makes anyone feel better (which I doubt), I now know the parties responsible and will have my very own BYOL party to which they're invited, whether they want to attend or not.

yeah... that makes me feel better just cause it probably makes you feel better...
i'd feel even better if i didn't spend the last 5 minutes trying to figure out what a BYOL party is.... (hint, hint...)

I am with Matt ---> BYOL????
I am guessing I missed what happened. Glad you got it fixed though.
Bring your own lawyer.
It's sort of a party where summary judgment is either not sought or denied and where twerps are in litigation until their hineys are doing somersaults.

Ah! lawyer.
I'm going to use that. We do that where i work, too with idiots who violate our copyrights...
Enjoy the party!

Ahh ok Tom hit em where it hurts.
Hey, I take this board and its community seriously, Dan...most of the time, anyway. :D
Again, folks: Please PM me if you voted before 9 PM Central (US) on Oct 12, because all votes were necessarily deleted and you'll need a different password to vote again. All others can vote if already registered at cichlidforums.com and at the contest gallery.

FORTUNATELY for me we don't have any of that laying about the house at the moment. If we did I am sure I would know what it tastes like as well. Guess I should wake up just a bit more before going to brush my teeth.....

This is why males and females need seperate sinks!
Seriously though...I can't remember when I voted....Tom, do I need to revote or anything?
So is ballot stuffing on a cichlid forum an "actionable" tresspass?
That's pretty silly really...
Tom...I got the message "you have allready voted " does this mean my votes are counted? Or do I need to re-do it all? or something...

I guess that depends on where you sit: From my rocker, I don't take kindly to having my time stolen by "pranksters."
Actionable trespass? Seedy: I hope you're retained to represent these individuals.

Thanks Tom...I think we got it sorted out. I revoted using the password you pm'd....
I think you missinterpreted my "silly" remark...
I think it's "silly" that they did it....not that you are upset by it...I'd be pissed to if I had to re-do something I've allready done (and know that the forum members will also have to redo it) because of some silly prank... :)

Just curious Tom, pm the answer if you don't mind, was it board members or random twits?

hey Tom what's going on with the photo contest?it looks like all the votes were reset or something.and the rating stars come up without even login in:confused:
Looks like you were viewing the contest gallery while I was creating a new user group designed to ensure that only forum members are able to vote and were seeing "Rate This Photo" without being logged in. You now shouldn't be able to see that or the numerical values of the photos unless you're logged in and included in that group (you are), although the general values (the ratings icons) are visible to all.
If anyone has problems voting in the contest gallery, please PM me to ensure you're in the "voters" group.
A reminder to vote: Two days left to go, and the contest remains wide open. Those who log in will note that a mere one-tenth of a point separates the current top two pics, and just three-tenths of a point separates the top three.

Tom,
I'm signed in at the contest album but it wont let me see the scores. Why not?
Sorry about that. It goes back to my earlier post regarding the "voters group." Your username, as well as that of every other member, should have been moved to that group last night. I missed some, but not on purpose. :D You're good to go now.
