it's a type of moray eel.

Hey! I just bought one from MY petsmart, and was looking for info on it.
OK, it's a type of Moray... does anyone here keep eels that could help me with a few questions? If I knew more about eels, I'd say this was more of a rescue - from a way too teeny tank.
He has a healing tail where he was once in a tank with cichlids, and they ate his tail. I would like help on what to watch for as it heals.
I also don't know - do you treat these guys for flukes? I normally treat all of my new fish with praziquantel, being originally an exotic goldfish person. I have treated scale-less fish with no problem, but don't know if this is different.
I won't do anything more than what the manager and I agreed on (a very nice girl who has tanks of rescues from work!) until I know it's safe. A little salt and some melafix, live food for it to eat, very clean water and a good place to feel safe and hide.
I'd also like to know how to make this guy feel more at home, and who could possibly be tankmates when he moves to my 150.
Thanks! Sorry to go on so!
Deb
OK, lots of that is in the link, but I would love a live person to fret to... :)

one earlier
Oh thanks! I'm so glad yours is doing well! I am still asking around some other places, just for extra info to be sure. Yes, he seemed too cold to me when I brought him home. I've heated him up to about 78 to 80 degrees. He sure is a faster mover this morning!
That would be great to gab about these guys... thanks! I'll send you an email soon! Wait till you see the tail on my guy :( I think the tip will eventually fall off. As long as it heals well, I don't care if he loses it as far as looks go.
Thanks!
Debs
HEY!! A friend of mine found out what it is! This should help us a TON! Just in case anyone else comes here who's bought the same thing, I wanted to post these great links here (rather than just emailing them)....
