I have an african cichlid that actually looks somewhat like the one in the Cichlid Forums logo....Blue with black stripes(about 8)....yellow lines going through his blue tail....and a yellow outlined blue top fin.....his front two bottom fins have yellow on the edge of them and the back bottom fin has one yellow dot....
Anyone know what kind it is?? I kind of bought it on a whim as I've only dealt with community tanks and no-one at the store seemed to know exactly what kind he/she was....so I took em based on appearance and I hope to add more fish to the tank in time, but only ones that are compatible with the he/she....He comes from the M lake...I couldn't spell it for my life so I won't even try....
Thanks for any help anyone can give...

well my g/f just got a digital camera and we took some pictures of it and took it to the fisherman in deleware and they said it was a pecock....which is a psuedo(sp) fish....So today I added another psuedo and he's chasing it a little but not biting it....he only chases when he comes into his territory(sewer pipe tunnel grouping)....so hopefully they'll work out together....
The guy was impressed with my peacock and said if I was ever going to sell it they'd probably buy it for around 15$....I bought him for only 5$....he's gotten really pretty in the past 3 weeks....started to color really well and grow alot(he's now about 4 1/2 inches)

peacocks are not pseudotropheus, they are aulonocara. hopefully, your pseudo is one of the milder types, otherwise your peacock is in for it. however, i don't think that the fish in the logo is a peacock.

The logo sports a drawing of a yet-to-be formally described Pseudotropheus species currently tagged "aggressive yellow fin."

It normally takes my fish around one week for their fins to heal if there is any kind of fighting, but I actually had one really bad fight, and his tail find recovered within two days, so you can't really say how long it takes. It also depends on your water quality.
