I moved him to a different tank and the only thing I can figure out is he was seeing a reflection. he kept puffing at the left side of the tank and by his actions it looked like he was trying to ward another fish out of his territory. anyway, I snapped a couple pics before turning the lights off to help "settle" him down. :)

Jason,
You know anytime you move a puffer or change its surroundings, they can exhibit a pouty or nervous behvior. It is not at all unusual for this to last for several days. I would try keeping the light off in his tank until he acclimates and try not to have too much activity around his tank. just a suggestion. Keep us updated on how he is adjusting.

oh he's doing just fine. I still think it was some kind of reflection because he wasn't acting nervous or anything, he was specifically looking at the one side of the tank, lowering his head and halfway charging at that side of the tank...typical puffer "get outta my territory" behavior. I left the lights off for the night and turned them back on the next day and he has been fine since. :)
