first off let me apologize for the crappy picture quality.after looking at jason_s's pics of his honduran red points i thought that maybe my male con was a honduran red point.his base color is alot lighter than my females.he has blue lips and aqua blue tinges in his caudal ,anal ,and dorsal fins.maybe i'm just trippin' maybe this is the way all male cons look.hope you guys can help me out.

definitely not a honduran red point, but might have been crossed with one at some point. there are farms in florida already crossing cons and hondurans selling them as "blue cons". yours might have come from one of those farms possibly and gotten just a bit of the honduran in him. male hondurans should have red or orange dorsal fin and tail and light blue overall coloration.

My female is definatly blue jason, I even have other cons to compare her color against, I wish I could figure out how to post some pics because i'd really like to show her off, she is totally blue and i mean blue, her belly and side redness is'nt dotted though like some other females its more like an orangish reddish hue.- salty

thanx jason, but my problem is'nt my computer its my digital cam I think i lost all the computer cords for it, my girlfriend has a nice digital i'll try and set it up sometime in the next week or so, you'll see I really think it is a true hondurian red point, she seroiusly looks exactly like the pics youve shown, these others it seems like everyone sees a little bit of blue on their regular black cons and just assumes,oh, I must have a honduran red point or some sh.t like that. later, - salty

yea, i guess i am, that con you showed is just a regular black con. just because a light catches his chin just right or something dos'nt mean he is a hon. red point or blue con, I see no blue at all on your con, not even a spec. if you really had one there would'nt be any doubt he would just be blue and thats it, so don't get your hopes up, oh yeah and what are you gonna do when the cop finally catches you and throws your ass to the ground are you still gonna try and run with handcuffs and a broken face or what?-salty.

i'm glad your such an expert these days.it's reassuring that we have such high caliber people as yourself posting here.he actually does show quite a bit of blue when he's in breeding color,the only way i could get a pic was to use flash and it drowned out most of his color.if you read my first post i didn't say it was an HRP i was asking for help in identifying it.i'm sorry i don't posess your expertize in fish keeping.i have never been rude or condesending to you and i have on a few occasions tried to help you out when you posted,i don't know what's up your @$$ but i feel that you breaking my balls over a simple question is uncalled for.

Well, it's kind of hard to mistake that you were taking a jab at him when you made that comment in the thread he started asking if his convict was a HRP. :wink:

But anyway, the pics of Hondurans I've been putting up have been in breeding/fry protection mode when their color changes. Most of the other pics I've taken of them the color gets washed out in the flash. It's very difficult to get good pics of HRP's without the color getting washed out, but when not breeding they are an unmistakeable overall blue color similar to an electric blue dempsey. best pic I've seen of a Honduran on the net is at the bottom of the ACA homepage. :)
