Two N. leleupi showed up in my LFS over the Xmas sale period with amazing colouration: glowing flourescent orange, visible from 30 feet away. Same colour and intensity as a Creamsicle! Quite unreal looking.

The rest of my leleupi look drab grey-yellow next to them. Anyone know anything about them?

The colouration is so stunning I though they might be a gene-spliced product from SE Asia -- actually, the couldn't be, because they have mustaches which the splicers would no doubt have eliminated. But I've never seen this variety before and would love to know whether they're in the lake or line bred. Pics will be posted in a few days.

Did it look like this?

Colour is right but I think the intensity and colour density of my new pet is much greater. I'll try to get a pic over the next couple of days and post it so you can judge for yourself.

Any info on the source of these fish?
