Sponge Filter

I put a Hagen BioFoam sponge filter in my 10g tank and I think I have something installed wrong. It freaking sounds like I'm brewing coffee!! I have an Elite 801 air pump hooked up to it which is rated for a 15g and everything else looks like the pics in the instructions. The water and air are comming out of the top with a loud gurggling. I put it on there for when my convicts breed the fry wouldn't get sucked up in the Whisper filter. It was a suggestion that made sense, but this sponge filter is kinda loud. Any tips or ideas? I thought about just slipping the sponge over the Whisper water intake, would that be a good idea?

you need one of the techheads to help with this one, but you can slip a sponge sleeve over the whisper intake--just remember to rinse and squeeze it out about once a week or the filter will jam.

I don't think you installed it wrong - they just sound like you're brewing coffee! That probably means you've done it right.
