I wanted to start a thread for any one who has a cameraphone. While they are certainly limited in their quaility, I find they offer a unique perspective into our modern information age.

This thread is for anyone with a cameraphone to share pictures (not nescasarily fish related, but no nudity as this is a 'family forum'), share experiences, or just generally pontificate on how "Dick Tracy Cool" these things are....

The thread is now open!

* pictures in advertisments are simulated they say in that tiny fine print on the bottom of both print and television advertising

The baited hook when it comes to these phones is image quality but it gets better with every model advance

But think about it how often do you say " I wish I had a camera with me" or you "should have seen it, "

Well now you can

Exactly what makes these things so fun...most people allready carry around a cell phone...so you get to capture some unique moments...I'm curiose as to what things people have captured with their phones...

I'd like to think that there is a strong "post-modern folk art" or "working class art" quality to these pictures...it even almost borders on a "performance art" quality as some phones even capture 15 second "movies"....

Here's a moment that I would have missed without my Camera phone...it's an SUV that was "zippoed" in my apartment complex...not sure why the arsonist burned it...but I suspect a "domestic type dispute"....

Nice one Vip....Have you tried using a photoediting program with your camera phone pics? I have yet to try that....

For those of you who don't consider the cameraphone a viable art medium...I submit the following photo for consideration.

CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW!?!
http://www.cichlidforums.com/postimages/2004-07-27/58958-001.jpg

Here is the story Behind it...I hate the Phone...no not just a little...A LOT...I work on the phone all day long at a call center...(my down time lets me post here) I talk to and get cussed by people all over this country...(and sometimes even internationally!) I also am routinely overbilled by my cell phone company, and have constant technical issues with their service...To contact Sprint, I have to wait in que (on hold) usually in upwards of 30min...So one day, I took an old malfunctioning cell phone (actually I took three and 'modified' two) out to the country and shot it with my 38special... The white spot you see in the middle of my avatar is what happens when a Federal Hydrashock hollow point hits a POS cell phone!... I have now mounted that phone as an instalation art peice in my apartment (backlit with a orange 'candle' light bulb) and entitled it "Can you hear me NOW?"

Another interesting aspect of cameraphones is that people don't always realise you are taking pictures:twisted: ....It can be a great way to collect "evidence" or show "proof" of somethings occurance...

I caught this pic of a hot air balloon making a not so pretty landing in the field next to work...while the zoom on my camera does cause some of the depth to disapear, that balloon really is close to those trees....I figure it only missed by maybe one small "burn"....

How is it that people here take better pictures with a camera phone than I can with a digital camera? I mean, I know HOW, but still.

Yeah :D. Especially the grey one on the left (Juliet). She is very mischevious:edance:. I'm constantly having to yell at her to get off the 75 gallon. I am afraid she is going to break the glass tops and fall in:rofl:. And when I yell at her to get down, she yells back at me and only gets down when I make a move towards the tank! The pleco is her favorite fish. She goes bonkers whenever she sees it. Swatting at the glass and running around the tank to try to look at it. I have to keep a chair next to the tank for her to sit in, cuz I've caught her peeking in the tank by pulling herself up by the plastic along the bottom of the tank.

I had almost forgotten about this thread! It really is interesting to see how between then (when this thread was originally posted) and now most of the major news agencies have started to use cell phone footage/pics of events in their regular reporting.

They both love it. I tried to get them both in the picture but the other one kept trying to run back out and play.

When it snows outside they run laps in the yard until they collapse, then root around like pigs. When I called them to come in the dog out of frame was sleeping in the middle of the yard on his back with his legs straight up in the air. The only thing visible was the pads of his feet. That was the day we got hit with a pretty good storm and got 9 inches.
