We have a new peacock and a clown loach and two plecos. What are some other friendly and social fish to add to the tank?

TIA :D

i don't think that any cichlids really qualify as friendly and social--some are less aggressive than others, but they're a pretty rough crowd all around. you only bought one peacock--is that because you want a male only tank?(i'm assuming that it's a male). can you get a couple of females to go with him? other malawi haps, some victorian haps, and labidochromis species should be good candidates for tankmates for your peacock.

What are the water conditions? Im am not familiar with conditions the loaches can thrive as you introduce additional African Cichlids.

Clown loaches can tolerate the higher pH and hardness - mine have been going strong in my Malawi tank for years. (Same with plecos if you acclimatise them to it gradually).

As for other tankmates, you could try some Mbuna like e-yellows or zebras - they're quite active & colourful and go okay with peacocks.
A male electric blue might be an idea too.

I would suggest Protomelas or Copadichromis species however they might grow a bit large for your tank...

Do you know the name of your Peacock (the term peacock is used widely)? I would stay away from pseudotrophous and some Haps.

How big is your tank, and how many rocks do you have in there....ect ect..
give me the details.
