hey guys i have a display tank at my work at the fish shop that i'm taking over and its a 29 gallon 'jungle' type.... its rather low light with a lot of anubias, java moss, and duckweed. for decor theres flourite gravel, mopani wood and petrified wood. anyhow my question is would a pair of longfin rams and a pair of cacatoides (sp?) get along in there? right now theres a small school of emerald eye rasaboras, 2 chocolate gouramis, and the pair of rams. i've never done small cichlids like them before so i don't know a whole bunch about them.... i know the basics.. but ya know... we can't all know everything. anyhow, anyone have any feedback??

When I had a ram & an apisto together in a tank even larger than the one you're getting, the ram bullied the apisto to death. Just my experience

two pair should be fine until they start breeding,I've owned rams before ,very mellow fish until breeding, what apisto are you talking about?cockatoo dwarf cichlid?if so it should work out fine as long as there's enough vegatation(they like densley planted aquariums),a few caves, cockatoo's can get aggression squabbling with other cichlids over establishing territories,if enough are provided it will tone them down a bit,IMO go for it,sounds like a good Idea and I do have another tank,LOL take care.

i was thinking caucatoudies (darn that word and me never being able to spell it!). this tank has a LOT of anubias and other swords, along with a lot of java moss. i might try it still... hey, its the stores tank...i'm not spending the money, and if aggression starts, then i can take em out immediately and sell them anyways :D
