I have a 30 gallon aquarium and I am going to get some convicts. Should I buy them young or old. If I buy them young how many should I buy. I think I'm suppose to buy half a dozen or so and when a pair bonds get rid of all the rest just leaving the one pair. Am I right or should I leave 2 pairs. I know they are easy to breed but is there anything I should know before I start. They will be the only fish in the tank besided an algae eater. Will they pick on him. Thanks for any help. :o

That should be fine for a single pair of convicts. I don't think I would push 2 pairs, although it might work. yeah, buy 6+ little convicts and you are garanteed a pair. Actaully, buy a male convict and a female convict and you are garanteed a pair :) They shouldn't bother the pleco to much, and there isn't really anything important that you'll need to know to breed convicts.
