Hey everyone..

I was at it again today---
I stopped by a LFS going out of business...
ALL TROPICAL FISH .99
OK..what was I supposed to do>???

Anyhoo..i happened upon these 3 strange little catfish (that looked on their last legs- i HAD to save them)...they're about 2 inches long (juvies)...black and white (like a cow might be spotted) and have barbels....they're a long lean fish-look like maybe a syno or a channel cat of somekind???
There were no labels or anything...and the 'clerk' was clueless (she blew into the bag as she bagged the fish....eck)

I'll try for some pics later-
Anybody have a guess?

Pseudopimelodus raninus raninus ?

microglanis iheringi are more of a tan and black color. Do they have white spots all over the head and face?

Could also be a Leiocassis siamensis. All bumblee labelled cats look pretty simlar. If they are syno shape and have short whiskers they would most like be the asian bumblebees as listed above. When they are small they will be white and black.

ok..here's the best I can do for now (they hide a lot)...they're VERY thin...really not too sure they're going to make it, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed...(tho, they can't be feeling SO bad..they were lip locked before fighting)

i also found a loach there-no tag ...I'm assuming a kuhli loach?...not sure..he looks healthier than the cats do

and finally, the lone alive cory cat-looks kinda 'iffy'...if he pulls thru, he's welcome to join my 4....(all of these fish are in a 10 gallon quarantine for the moment)

not a kuhli...kuhli are colored kinda like a stiped clown fish...and have a more "eel like body"...

yah, you're way right-
...from looking at loaches.com, I'm thinking peppered loach?

well, the cats are still alive today & hungry!....they gobbled some shrimp pellets...they were also fighting w/ each other, so maybe they're feeling a little better?:)

one more update-
My bud Eric (of All Oddball) says these cats are asian bumblebee cats -Siamese Catfish...
They're quickly becoming one of my favorite fish I've got-they're so busy..and HUNGRY! ..and that big mouth!...from what I understand they get to be 7-8" long and are PREDATORY...haha...they really don't care for other B.bee catfish company...

update:
I feel pretty certain that these cats are NOT the Asian cats, but the South American Bumblebee cats- saw some in person and feel pretty sure mine are the same...

Anyone have experience w/ them? Same as the Asian>?

..and he jumps out of the filter, back into the tank..
little snot..
