I have a trio of double-red apisto caca's. A few months ago, the male appeared unable to close his jaws. I've seen this in kribs and characins: it's a sign of fatal stress, and they died within days or a week.
However, Mr. caca has soldiered on for months now, apparently indifferent to the problem. He eats well, gets turned on when his consorts turn lemon yellow, but hasn't sired anythiing. Yesterday I noted that his lower jaw is now displaced to the side.
Any suggestions? :?:
