Is the sand better than gravel? What kind of sand is there and wouldn,t the sand ruin filters

Depends on the species of fish and the Filter you use.

Tanganykans and some south americans work well with sand.

If you can be more detailed with what fish you want and what filters you have it would help.

Oh sorry I was just trying to get some general info on sand. I haven,t started up a tank yet . But thanxxx for the info.
