Are these Rainbow cichlids?

I got them for $2.99 from a "mixed South American" cichlid tank at the LFS. I never see rainbows around here, so if they are, I got a good deal. If they're not, I still like 'em.:)
Any opinions on what they are?

They look like they're eyeing up my african butterfly, but actually nobody messes with him.
