Hi there....i just got myself some cichlid ... thought I might as well get to know more of this fishes.....

I have 2 orange and 1 blue with black stripes ... really no idea what they are....they were gifts from my gf....

I noticed that there 2 orange ones were forever swimming and chasing each other.....is that normal? Whilst the blue one is always at the bottom of the tank mostly just there....

Randy: hey man, welcome to the site n all, just a tip....save yourself the cash on constant upgrades for years and just buy a BIG 150gal plus with some big satisfying intelegent hand feeding owner recognising all american bad boys!
and jo: sounds like they're african but its hard to tell from your description.... maybe a bumblebee and a peacock...or an electric blue? anyways you said you 'just got them from my gf' so their new and just arranging a pecking order its normal. your blue one whatever it is is just getting used to the place n shy, VERY common- will take him3-7 days. as for the orange ones they are either working out wholl be boss for the time being or having sex....both are fine! enjoy your new pets

Hmmm . . . I was thinking kennyi. Two males, one female. I probably have my sexes mixed up though.

Hey Randy, go with cichlids from Lake Tang. They're something that your guests will never have seen before.

hi...thanks for your info...great help..was really worried whether the orange ones are fighting but then again, they are ferocious according some friends of mine. The blue one still sitting at a corner of my tank....i really dont like the orange ones, they chased after my algae eaters.....my poor blue one looks tiny to me comparing it to the orange ones.....Jo
