These two just went through the lip-locking and tail-face fanning thing, so I thought they were mating. But when my BP laid eggs, my sev showed no interest. I read that some sev's take up to two years to reach sexual maturity. Anyone think he's just not ready yet? Does my BP laying eggs means she's fertile?

I am not sure of the answer, but your severum is really good looking.

Thanks Bevoman! I can't wait until he's older and the cheek markings develop.

;) Would be interesting, though. With this warmer weather, even my AC can't get the tank below 80F. Her ovipositor is always slightly out. Although she's only laid the eggs the one time. But she's been nutty as heck this summer so far!!

Not always true. Some are some aren't. I have seen people successfully get eggs and fry.

I have heard that males are sterile, but some females not. Anyway, seems I've heard a lot of things about parrots ;) Looking for truth!.......although she's a spaz - don't know if I'd want any more :)
