Fry

I just found out that ma african cichlids have fry i don't know what to do iam new to cichlids my dad doesn't want to buy a 10 gallon breeding tank but i don't want the other ones to eat them and die i need a cheap resource around this where can i put the mom that is in a safe place so the babies don't die????:( :confused:

u could go out and buy a breeding net and keep her in the main tank. but the others might eat the babies through the mesh....

Also check out the little plastic boxes that hold air bubbles on the side the suction to the glass pretty well and they have small vents on the side for water circulation. Not sure if the fry could squeeze through.

hey you can buy a tank divider for cheap( around 15 bucks). it is efficient and will seperate the fry from the others. Then feed the fry some brine shrimp or crushed flake food. Hopefully after they grow a little bit larger you can sell them to a local pet shop
