i wasn't very observant when reading your post, what makes you think it's crossed with a firemouth?does it have physical characteristics of one or some weird coloring?

Generally referred to as the 'Pearl cichlid' or just 'brasiliensis'. They are probably (from my limited experience) one of the more aggresive of the Geophagus group. However I don't think they would do very well with most central american cichlids (ie not that aggresive). For cichlid tank mates I'd try some other medium-large SA cichlids such as other geophagus, blue acaras etc. Most other fish (if you want something other than cichlids) would probably do ok as long as they were big enough not to regarded as a snack and also fairly robust (or at least fast enough to get out of the way when need be) e.g. medium sized catfish, large rainbowfish, giant danios, decent sized characins (e.g. silver dollars) etc. Depends on what size tank you'd intend on putting him in.

if i could find another one what size tank do i need and what could i mix him with what kind of cichlid is he?

mix him with other fish like geophagus or aquadens... they are south americans but don't get really large like midas or terrors, etc. I have 2 tanks with geo's in them and they are fairly calm. Red Humped Geophagus (also called earth eaters) do really well with them also. At the store i work at we have a display with geophagus, festivums, and blue/red columbian tetras. At home i also keep severums and blood parrots with them. Good luck finding another one they are really fun. Also, this is not a total necessity, but they prefer very fine gravel to sift through, etc like 'blast sand'.
