What should I be feeding my two syno polli? They are in a 75g tank w/ 6 peacock and 10 mbuna. (going to add 5 more per SGM)I feed the cichlids a variety of foods....spirulina, dried krill, dried plankton, pellets, algae wafers and frozen peas and zucchini. They get a treat now and then of frozen brine shrimp. The syno's don't seem to ever get a bite because food rarely makes it to the bottom other than the wafers.

Thanks SGM - site answered my question. How about a link with some pictures of juvenile German Reds and Ngara Flametails. I have both and can't remember which is which. One is a grayish brown with darker up and down stripes and the other is a silvery gray with black stripes.

If they are juvenile's you may be stuck till they color up.Shouldn't take long. When they hit about 1-1/2" they should start showing something. If not they might be females.

I know what they are going to look like when they color up...I just can't remember which are which right now. All the websites I visit don't show them before they color. I was sold what my lfs (Ultimate Fish - specializing in cichlids) hoped was 2M and 1F of each. The females are about an inch and the males range from 1.5 to 2. Guess this calls for a trip to the lfs - I need more fish anyway. Thanks - - -
