I have an 8 inch long big mouthed bright pink cichlid. I got it when i first started my tank and never knew what it was. Its top fin stands up straight all the time and makes hhim/her look very agressive but its really not untill it starts eating my smaller cichlids.
I recently found a 2inch version of my big pink fish but still no name to it has been found. If anyone has seen or knows anything about my fish tell me. Thanx

MAYbe Pseudotropheus/Maylandia estherae, however I've never seen one at 8 inches.

I agree, the coloration could be Maylandia estherae, but the physical description doesn't sound right. Could you post a picture? That usually helps a lot more than even a detailed description can.

I've seen some large red zebras around here. The bigger they get the lighter the color on them get resulting in a pink or light orange.

i have an orange-fined albino red zebra (i'm not sure of the Scientific name) that is pink, and looks quite a bit like you're describeing. He's the most agressive in my tank, but none of mine are over 2 inches so i'm not sure what his full growns size would be. Your's doesn't happen to have red eyes like an albino does he?
