just wondering who in here is from Oklahoma and breeds fish or may have a batch of young now and then. I just purchased some neo multi's from Jonah and was very pleased with the transaction. I think I'd rather help out other hobbyists if I can. you can email me at snakeskinner@pldi.net Kyle

I'll do some reading on those fish. As for the goldfish, my parents have an overstock the way it is so no help there :) cya, KYle

As of yesterday, I'm completely out of all of the grow out fry I had around the house.
This year I'm planning on breeding the following:
Aulonocara "yellow jake"
Aulonocara bi-color
Aulonocara maisoni "Chinteche"
Protomelas spilonotus "Mara Rocks"
Pseudotropheus demasoni
Melananochromis parallelus
Neolamprologus multifasciatus "Mpimbwe"
Neolamprologus brevis
Thorichthys azureus
Herotilapia multispinosa
Herichthys bartoni
There's a bunch of non-cichlids too, primarily odd-ball livebearers that only a geek would want.
I'm also hoping that my Pelvicachromis taeniatus will spawn sometime this summer. That would be Big Time for me. I've got some Dicrossus filamentosus that I'm working with too, but they seem to be a tough one from what I've gathered.
I've got high hopes obviously.

well, the malawi's will have to wait. my 65 just got turned into a larger rainbow/angel/ram tank since my wife wants more rainbows and my rams needed a different home anyway. no big deal, now I can get a larger tank for the malawi's, hehe. Kyle

congtatulations i think that is hard feat considering the amount of cichlids you seem to own and knowing how cichlids breed

update: I still have a steady stream of the "Eureaka Jakes"...I've been pulling "alpha males" from my batches that get culled (fed to my calvus) so I have a few possible "show" males coloring up....
"Good lahrd whiln "N" da crick dahnt raise".....I should have F1 multies and F1 A. calvus "white" from Chiatkaira at some point this coming year...Possibly some tank raised Leluepi too....

I've got a Pseudotropheus demasoni holding now. Hopefully I'll actually get fry from this one. I've had several hold in the last year, but have never been able to catch them before they spit in the main tank. I didn't take any chances this time and moved her immediately to a 10g. She's hiding in a pile of pvc elbows that came from her main tank. So far she still has the bulge.
The bonus is that I noticed one of my Copradichromis azureus looks like it's holding now too. First time spawn for them. I also notice my Mel. parallelus are going through the motions and my kribs are guarding their cave. I just got a pair of females last week and the 3 of them are all guarding the cave together. Kind of weird, but whatever works for them I guess.
I also think my Neo. brevis is guarding eggs in her shell. I moved her and the shell to a 5g with a sponge filter. The male has eaten almost every fry I've ever gotten from them, except for one male that survived. As soon as they leave the shell, she's going back in the brevis tank with the guys.
Hopefully I'll get at least one of the substrate spawners and 2 of the mouthbrooders to produce sucessfully so I can close out my Old World BAP with the club. I've bred enough of each over the years, but I've only been BAPping my fry for a year or two. Then I can finish my Livebearer category and move on to New World Cichlids.
If I finish the Old Worlds before the ACA I'll be able to concentrate on getting some CA's and dwarf SA's.

I'm looking to pick up some shellies if any one in the area has them. (Owasso, you still have some "gold occies" for sale?)
I am also now looking for female Aulonocara sp. Hai reef "Red Top Lwanda"
I currently have C. leptosoma "sumbu" holding and should have Eureaka Red Peacocks available at some point soon....possibly also some F. gardeneri "N'Sukka" killi fish...
...I'm also in the market for an adult male N. leleupi (can trade for adult females)...
Also...I'm always looking for interesting Tanganyikans that anyone has spawned, or are just looking to get rid of.
Mbuna need not apply... :D

No occies yet. Things have been so crazy around here for a while, I don't even have them in their permanent tank yet. Imagine that a 40br sitting empty! The one's I do have are yellow zambians. They have more blue on their sides than the golds, and I think they're really pretty but they haven't bred for me yet.
