Hello,
I recently purchased a Green Terror and i was wondering what is the best sized tank for him. He would be the dominant fish in the tank, so i was wondering what kind of fish would best keep with him. he is currently 2inchs long. I wouldn't want to get a tank to small as to "hurt" him, but I know i can not afford a 100g tank.
Thanks for all your help,
Koyukon

try a 'google search' using the keywords: "green terror", "tank size", etc...

Hi koyukon
Welcome to the forums.
While you're doing research, I'll move your thread to the American Species forum: It might have been missed by some of our Neotropical cichlidophiles (....hint hint).

Your new tank shoulld be atleast 55g (or a similiar tank size). But a much better choice would be a 75g as it would be a lot wider and allow a large fish to manuever more easily. Also, you may want to buy a used tank, as they will be much much cheaper than a brand new one.
If you were to go with a tank of 75g+ then you would have many choices as far as tank mates. There are lots of small Aequidens and Acara types that would make good tank mates. Som e are very rare other more commom. Things like the Keyhole Cichlid, Dorsigerus, and Blue Acara. these cichlids are small enough not be seen as threat to the Green Terror, and large enough not to be eaten (especially if they are raised together fro very small juveniles).
There are a number of other
Catfish- (Plecos, Pictus, Pims, Synodontis, Lima Shovelnose, ect.)
Characins- (Columbian Tetras, Silver Dollars, Chalceus, ect.)
and Oddballs- (Polypterus, Knife fish, Gobies, ect.)
that would make good tankmates.
