I have a pregnant Melanochromis johanni. When should I move her into the baby tank? What should I do?

I have a pregnant Melanochromis johanni. When should I move her into the baby tank? What should I do?

Is she pregnant? or is she mouthbrooding? If she's just full of eggs she needs to breed with the male yet. If she's mouthbrooding her eggs I usually wait seven days till I pull the female,and try to make it as easy as possible, I pull all my rocks first then I use two nets one to coax her into the other net. Everybody does it a little different some wait till nighttime,some early morning.

the eggs get fertilized in her mouth, so there's no point in moving her if she's just full of eggs. after spawning, the female's jaw will be bulging with eggs. she will mouthbrood them for 3 to 4 weeks. i would move her after about 18 days.
