Is there any opnions that anyone has about breeding? I would like to have at least a pair of my cichlids start to breed. I have a 75 gal tank. About 16 fish many about 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 inchses in size. Are they maybe to small? I have a good ammount of hiding placeses. It dosent seem like my fish have gotten past the cootie stage. lol. Is there anything that i could do to help out my fish to get the itch? please help.

I've heard raising the temp up to 80 can help them get the 'itch' as you put it...I would think that any time now you should start to have fish breed...Although some of your fish may be a little small still...I've found that as long as my water quality stays high my fish won't do anything but breed!...I have two batches of hybrids on the way right now...Unless you have a species specific tank, you can pretty much count on sometimes having hybrids, and you will never be able to be 100%sure that your fish are not hybridising...so I don't recomend mixed species tanks for breeding for sale/trade...but I still enjoy watching the baby hybrids, and since I don't pull the females...they usually end up as a "snack" for my other fish...

Please don't make multiple posts of the same question. That's clearly posted in the TOS. Your other topic has been removed.
I think your fish are probably too small right now, depending on what species they are. It should be soon though. I can usually trigger breeding with a 50% water change with any of my mbuna.
