hi, im new to this. i want to set up a tang tank, but only have 30"*18"*12" available. not alot i know. i was wondering if Altolamprologus calvus, neolamprologus brichardi and julidochromis regani can be housed in this same tank, and if so how many of each, as ive heard neolamprologus brichardi should be kept in groups. the tank will be set up with a rock cliff across the back with plenty of hiding spaces, some villisnernia, and a bit of java moss. hopefully with a course sand substrate. Is this sounding like a good idea? i heard you should over stock tang tanks, so any advice on stocking levels of these varieties of fish, or anything else similar would be much appreciated.cheers

i think i may be able to move my bedroom around and get a 48"*18"*15".what numbers of the above mentioned fish would i be able to happily keep in this tank. i would rather keep a small shoal of one type of fish rather than a single specimin. what sort of numbers could i put in this tank? cheers for the help

hi ben! :D the four foot tank gives you more options. see this thread re: brichardis(as a matter of fact read all of the posts in the tanganyika section):

i believe that you can successfully house a pair of calvus and a pair of julies in this tank along with the brichardis.

Thats what I have in mine with no problems. I do get a bit of bickering but no real damage or stress. Just make sure you have plenty of hiding places and add all the fish at the same time, and they should do fine.
