This is the new wave aquarium lighting so I thought I would share a few tips passed down to me on how to build them. For those who haven't seen the bulbs they are about 15-20 watts for more light than most flourescent strip lights! Great right. Here is how you do it.

Go to Home depot and you can buy a 13 foot rain trouphing (SP). They come in either white plastic, or brown aluminum. (Only problem but there is always paint). Cut it to the size of your tank and buy 2 end caps.

Buy some incandescent t shaped fixtures and install them into the center, or the end or whereever you want to or how many you want to. All you have to do is cut or drill holes to install the fixtures. To keep it neat install them on the back of the trouphing. MAKE SURE you drill a couple of extra holes on the back to release some of the heat especially on the plastic ones.

All together this should cost no more than $20. I just price it out at lunch.

The bulbs you can buy at a plant store for about $10 a piece.
